The Robert Paul Band

Robert Paul Gay (Lead Guitar), known by his friends as Robbie Gay, played in The Johnny Van Zant Band for 15 years touring all over the US and Europe. Not only is he an accomplished guitarist, but he is a prolific songwriter. He can be attributed to writing 20 hit songs for the Johnny Van Zant band to include "Who’s Right or Wrong", "Coming Home", "Standing in the Darkness", "Love can be so Cruel", "Only the Strong Survive", "Yesterday’s Gone" and more. His musical career is far from over. Robbie continues to astound audiences as a phenomenal guitarist.

Danny Clausman (Bass), played in the Johnny Van Zant band for 8 years touring all over the US and Europe. After leaving JVZ, he played with several bands including: Bomber, Wet Cat, Taneras, Seventh Heaven, Southern Star, The Blues Crabs, and American Rock. He is the owner of Greenroom Studio 777.

Michael Bateman (Singer), brings his soulful voice and wide range to The Robert Paul Band’s new release, providing a strong foundation for Robbie’s soaring guitars. Having shown his vocal, writing and arranging talents fronting the bands FederalXpress and Triage, Bateman has also worked with Grammy and Dove award-winning artists in the CCM world. For this project, Michael has helped to create a sound that recalls Robbie's JVZ Band days, yet produces a fresh sound unique to The Robert Paul Band.

Kellen Chesnutt (Drums), specializes in southern rock and blues. Kellen crossed paths with influences such as ZZ Top, The Allman Brothers and Little Feat, further driving him to create a fresh and articulate approach, unique to the signature style for which he can be recognized. After several years of extending his ability with other projects throughout the North-Florida area, Kellen returns to his roots with The Robert Paul Band.

Michael Caughran (Rhythm Guitar), brings a new energy to the band with Influences from Pink Floyd to Stevie Ray Vaughn. With music in his blood and playing with several local bands for nearly 20 years has created a strong foundation of rhythm for The Robert Paul Band.
